What is the mission of ZFSC?

The purpose of the the Zurich Fun & Sport Club is to organize events that allow people to try new things and at the same time to meet people with the same interests.  The club is open to all nationalities and the official language is English. There is no membership fee.  All you need to do is sign up and pay the stated cost of the event if any.

How did it get started?

I always want to try new sports or go to different activities.  Sometimes you cannot find a friend to go with you or the dates you can go just does not suit everyone.  I decided why stop myself from going and trying out new things and instead find people that have the same interest but are also having the same problems as I am to organize a group to go with me.  So the idea of the Zurich Fun & Sport Club was founded.

Are there membership costs?

Currently we are not charging a membership fee.  The only cost is the cost of the event when there is a fee.

How do I get notified of upcoming events

We update the website every Monday with new events or more information.  You can just check out the website whenever you want or you can sign up to get an email whenever we make an update to the website.  To receive an email update you will need to open a free Yahoo email account.  Sign up for Email Update

What do I have to do to participate?

Participation in the club comes in all forms.  For some the only participation is to attend events that interest you.  We also welcome and need people to help us plan events or to act as an event leader.  If you like to organize something that interests you, please let us know the details and we will add it to our calendar.  If you want to be involved but do not have enough time to organize something, the help us by being an "Event Leader". We will provide all the organization but you will just be the point person on the day of the event.

Why is the official language of the group English?

As we are open to all nationalities whether an expatriate or a local, English must be the working language.  But that does not mean that is the only language we speak.  Since we try to multi-national and multi-cultural you will probably here all languages spoken at events.
